Mahsa McCauley (Mohaghegh)
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR, SHE#

SENIOR LECTURER & DIRECTOR OF WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY, AUT
Dr Mahsa Mohaghegh is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Women in Tech in AUT’s School of Computer, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences. She is a well-recognised leader in AI and machine learning and is also the founder of the charitable trust She Sharp, a women’s technology networking and learning group, where she works to encourage young New Zealand girls to consider what a career in technology offers. She founded She# in the hope to bring about the much-needed change in the gender split in tech and believes that we must work together to solve this!
She was named winner of the Emerging Leader category in the 2013 Westpac Women of Influence Awards and was one of ten finalists for 2018 Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year. In 2019 she was the Champion Award winner of the YWCA Equal Pay awards, and in 2020 presented with the Massey University Distinguished Alumni Award.

Mike McCauley
AMBASSADOR, SHE#
Mike is a civil engineer, and currently works as a project manager at Johnstaff, managing development of the new Innovation Complex at Massey University in Albany, Auckland.
Involved with She# since its inception in 2014, Mike will often be seen at our events with camera in one hand and daughter in the other. He is passionate about encouraging more women to consider careers in tech since he sees the tremendous benefit diversity brings to the tech development space.
Outside of work and professional life, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and cooking.
Nicole Lin is a Customer Success Manager at Microsoft. She has experience in sectors spanning technology, business and social impact in diverse roles including data science, marketing, assurance and entrepreneurship. Previously she worked at Spark, PwC, and ANZ.
She is a champion for diversity & inclusion in STEM, digital equity, and is deeply passionate about harnessing technology to create social impact, particularly in tackling the challenges as set out by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She was recognised as a Google Women Techmakers Scholar in 2019, NZ Local Hero Medalist in 2020, and Impact Awards finalist in 2021. She chairs a working group on advancing AI awareness in NZ as part of AI Forum NZ, and is also a member of the Youth Advisory Board for Philanthropy NZ.
By profession, Ankita is a QA Test Analyst, which feeds into her curiosity to break things! She is also a passionate cook and a spiritual practitioner. For her, She# is all about encouraging and bridging the gender gap in all fields of under-representation, especially, the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Of course, this is not to be achieved alone. We must employ all our forces to band together to make a change!
Together we can do it! And that is what She# is all about – providing a platform for people to come together to make a difference!
Emily is currently a first year university student at the University of Auckland, studying a Bachelor of Science/Global Studies conjoint, with majors in Biology, Chemistry, and Human Rights and Global Politics. She graduated high school as dux in 2020 from Albany Senior High School, where she was also a head student.
Emily is very passionate about getting more women into STEM, in her time at Albany Senior High School, Emily working with another one of our SheSharp ambassadors, Sarina, on an impact project to inspire more female high school students into STEM based careers, creating the website www.womeninstem.co.nz.

Sarina Todd
AMBASSADOR, SHE#
Sarina recently graduated high school and is now a first year university student, studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) conjoint with a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Physics and Statistics) at the University of Auckland. Being one of few females in her cohort, she is determined to encourage more women into STEM subjects and careers.
During her final year of high school, she worked with fellow SheSharp ambassador Emily to connect with many women in STEM across New Zealand, and coded the website www.womeninstem.co.nz.
Shira is currently working at Countdown as a UX Designer and researcher. Shira has a strong desire for creating holistic experiences and uplifting people's skills, to allow a significant change in people’s lives. Her biggest motivation is to observe, learn and engage, in order to create delightful experiences that make an impact on people's lives.
Using the power of collective thinking, ideation, designing and researching, Shira aims to uplift people's skills and awareness of the Human-Centered Design approach.
Shira has previously worked at PWC as a CX (Customer experience) designer, was head of UX and designed apps at a small consultancy, worked at advertising and branding agencies and was a lecturer for digital design for 7 years.
Lately, Shira has supported and mentored women in their first steps of understanding their goals and shaping their road map and is very passionate to support other women in the future together with She Sharp.
Babra is a recent graduate from the University of Auckland. She studied Computer Systems Engineering and is working as a Software Engineer at Fergus Software. Although her area of expertise is technical, Babra has a plethora of other passions she has picked up over the course of her education. Throughout her high-school and university days, she has taken up multiple leadership positions, has been heavily involved with outreach programmes, organised events about civics education and technical mentoring and has been a mentor. Having such an interdisciplinary experience has allowed her to develop various skills and work with very inspiring individuals.
She hopes to inspire the youth of today about the technology sector as she was once by her mentors. She is stoked to be a part of the She Sharp exec team this year and hopes to create a safe space and an inspiring atmosphere for everyone who gets involved.
Alice has just completed a BSc, majoring in Computer Science and Information Systems and is now working at a tech start-up as a Customer Success Engineer. This role requires both computer science skills and people skills, a role she didn’t know existed.
She really wants to help bridge the gender gap by showing young women the wide range of opportunities and unique roles available in the tech industry.
