Community Tech Champions - Finalist
She Sharp runs events, workshops, and networking opportunities responding to the enduring gender imbalance across STEM industries. Strong female role models from industry educate and empower the next generation of innovators and leaders. In the seven years since its conception, She Sharp has reached an estimated 4000 people at the high school, university, and industry levels, securing over 1000 members. The organisation’s purpose aligns with companies’ diversity objectives, enabling them to readily secure sponsorship.
She Sharp’s vision is to break down virtual barriers and misconceptions surrounding STEM industries. The company is carving out spaces for individuals, groups, and organisations to contribute to closing the tech industry gender gap and for young girls and women to realise a sense of belonging in the industry. By providing a safe, inclusive, and diverse environment for people interested in STEM careers, She Sharp educates prospective members on the importance and the relevance of STEM related fields. With the hope of normalising female careers in ICT, She Sharp looks forward to inspiring many more young girls and women.
