Learning about software development in the health sector.
SheSharp had the official launch event with Orion Health at their Grafton offices. This included a Scrum workshop and plenty of opportunity to network with Orion employees as well as other women in technical fields.
Guest speakers from Orion Health, Diana Venter and Tegan Harrison, shared some of their stories of being a woman in software development and also talked about some of Orion Health’s products and processes.
I am a .NET Software Developer currently working on a project to integrate healthcare solutions with the Ministry of Health’s National Health Index. I have a passion for the industry as a whole and am keen to share my path and more importantly, to encourage females to invest in a career in I.T.
I am a junior Java developer in an agile scrum team at Orion Health. I am currently working on improving medical documents for clinicians, trying to decrease the amount of time spent on documentation. I like to encourage girls to enter into the IT industry because it’s a great place to work & and am passionate about breaking the stereotypes associated with being a computer geek.
