I attended my first She# event in 2015 when I was trying to figure out what path to take once I finish my studies. I still remember listening to one of the speakers describing her career in IT consulting and realising that it was exactly the type of role I wanted to pursue. For someone who has never considered a career in IT, She# has literally changed my life.
I am really grateful for all the work that the team does both showcasing the industry and giving young women tools to advance their careers.
She# is an excellent organisation, with one of the best things they do being organising great events to meet other girls in tech in New Zealand. They have helped me network and find a great interest in the area of IT, as well as making some great friends! I would highly recommend that any young women or professionals looking to expand their social circle and reignite the passion for IT to attend one of their events.
I came across She# at AUT, during my first year of University. Attending one of their events gave me a different kind of confidence and motivation. As a woman in the Tech field studying a course that not many people knew about (Creative Technologies), I felt a little undermined and shy to speak up in a room full of people.
I really believe that this organisation is wonderful because networking at a few events, listening to speakers and meeting new, like-minded people really encouraged me come out of my little bubble and gave me the confidence to speak my mind and express my ideas. #highlyrecommend
